Roof Maintenance Using Latest Technologies

Roof is the most exposed part of the home so it requires proper maintenance. Nowadays, different technologies are being used in Arizona to convert old roof into new and make it long-lasting. You don’t have to change the roof if there is a crack or leakage problem because roof repair experts in Arizona will help you to maintain your roofs within your budget.

Steps to make your concrete roof waterproof

  • Clean your roof: Thoroughly clean your roof with a push broom and a dust pan. Take time to clean the dirt and debris. If anything is left behind, it will not allow the sealer to adhere well.
  • Carry out minor repairs: Concrete can easily break and crack causing leakage but it can be easily repaired. So, firstly you should check whether there is any crack on the entire surface and if you find it then mark it with masking tape. Use silicone caulk to fill the crack and holes and then smoothen it using a knife. Repeat the process until it is perfectly sealed. Allow it to dry before you begin the waterproofing.
  • Use seam tape: Applying a seam tape increases the resistance capability so you can use a single piece to cover the seam and walk on it to press it down so it can hold better.
  • Coat with a primer: Primer is used after applying the seam tape. You can apply a concrete primer on the entire surface of the roof and switch to a paint brush to give a proper finish. Start from one corner to the end and leave it to dry. You can check the drying time from the label of the product.
  • Spray on a vapor barrier: Spray it, once the primer is dry. If the vapor barrier is dried then you can add a second coat. After the final coating, you can apply the paint you like.
